DIY Feature - Amanda and Ken

As a way of expanding their mobile bar business, they used the DIY plans to build their very own bar on wheels, Traveling Boho Bar.

Amanda and Ken built their teardrop in Ontario Canada using our DIY Renegade plans. Here’s some insight on their build!

What made you want to build a tiny camper?

We currently already have a vintage camper that we converted into a mobile bar. When it was time to buy or build, we chose BUILD! With the help and inspiration from YOU guys :)

What was your experience level with the skills required to build a camper (wood working, electrical, metal work, etc.) when you started?

Mine (Amanda), zero and Ken's was moderate but he is a gifted individual who surprises me always of the amazing things he can build and do!

What was the first step in your build?

Buying Wander Tears DIY Plans then researching inspiration for my unique vision!

What was your favorite part of the build?

Converting it to a tap bar!!

What was the most difficult part of the build?

Attaching the galley door and finding the correct gas springs to hold it up!

How long has it taken you?

4.5 months

If you're comfortable sharing, what was the total cost of the build?

$12,000 including 4 tap draft system and high end features

Would you do anything differently?

I might have purchased a ready made frame or kit. The parts were more pricey than I anticipated. And Install RV air conditioner but too $$

What has been the best part of owning a tiny camper?

Renting and sharing it for weddings and events!

Any tips for someone that wants to build a tiny camper but doesn’t know where to start?
