Your trailer frame is the foundation of your teardrop. Unfortunately we’ve heard horror stories of frames that were not designed for a teardrop trailer and could not handle the extensive use they go through.

The Trailer Frame Build Guide provides you with the specs, parts, and materials for building a 5’x8’ trailer frame for your DIY teardrop, as well as recommended modifications for popular bolt together frames. (Use this guide to help you with any size frame, however the cut list and materials will be different.)
We go in depth about leaf spring, Torsion Half -axle, and Timbren suspension to help you decide which is right for your build. Because these axles vary in how they are installed, we include the specs and steps for installing all three types.
